This is an urgent alert from the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation.

Please call your state Senator and urge the Senator to support Senate Bill 3.  Senate Bill 3 would allow Pennsylvania to opt out of abortion funding in the insurance exchanges created by President Barack Obama's health care law. The bill is expected to come up for a vote soon, so it is critical that you call your state Senator as soon as possible.

Call 717-787-2121 and ask for your state Senator by name.  If you do not know the name of your state Senator, please go to
www.legis.state.pa.us and type in your zip code on the right-hand side of the page and the name will be given to you.

Pennsylvania does not use government resources to fund abortions and we need to make sure it stays that way!

“Whom shall I send?” …”Here I am Lord, send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)

This is the theme at the Malvern Retreat House. In today’s world of 24/7 sound bites, non-stop Commercials, loud music and the like, it can be really difficult to hear the really important voices in our life. Sometimes we just need a quiet, safe place where we can listen to our God who knows us and loves us and wants to tell us what is best for us. The Malvern Retreat House is such a place. Please join the men of the parish the weekend of May 14, 15 and 16 for their Malvern retreat.

To learn more call Larry Fox at 717-545-1004 or e-mail lpfox@verizon.net, for additional information on retreats.

Pro-Life

As Knights of Columbus, we are called to do something to reverse the trend toward the culture of death. All of us have a duty to defend life at all stages and build a culture of life – and we have. By advocating a constant pro-life message, by supporting pregnancy centers and alternatives to abortion, and by educating our fellow citizens on the necessity of protecting vulnerable human life, our impact is being felt.

What we choose to do, or not do, about abortion, euthanasia, human cloning and embryonic research impacts lives for generations to come.

At Holy Name of Jesus Council 14081 we actively support Morning Star Pregnancy Centers both financially and with our time. Every year since our inception we have become a sponsor for Morning Star’s Annual Fund Raising Banquet. This year the banquet will be held on Thursday, April 22nd in the ballroom of the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey. If you have never attended one of these banquets or haven’t come in several years --- you won’t want to miss this one. You will be inspired and challenged.

We also support Morning Star’s Annual Walk for Life project each year in October by cooking pancakes and sausage for all the walkers.

Underway presently and throughout lent is the 40 Days for Life Campaign. This is a pro-life project designed to bring together the faithful in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting and community outreach. Go to www.40daysforlife.com/harrisburg and click Vigil Schedule.

Our faith tells us that all human life is sacred, from conception to natural death.
